What we Stand For

Firefighters1st is a non-profit organization dedicated the safety and the sustainability of North Americas volunteer fire service.

Firefighters1st practices what we call venture philanthropy.  Simply put this means our donations and the support we offer individual fire departments have strings attached.  In order for a department to receive support from Firefighters1st  we insist that Volunteer Fire Departments engage in activities that progress not only their department but the fire service in the areas of:  

• Public fire safety and prevention

• Public education around the scope of contribution the Volunteer Fire Service makes in its Country

• Public education around the scope of contribution a department makes in the community it protects

• Youth mentorship and promotion of the value of volunteerism in a community
