Firefighters1st is a non-profit organization dedicated the safety and sustainability of the volunteer fire service.

Firefighters1st  practices what we call venture philanthropy. In order for a department to receive support from Firefighters1st we insist that Volunteer Fire Departments engage in sustainable activities that amplify the financial impact of your donation.

Our Pillars for Success:

• We make strategic investments in fire departments. These investments build capacity, produce deliverables, and create social return.

• We build national awareness that empowers volunteer firefighters to better protect the public they serve. 

• We work in partnership with fellow volunteer firefighters to identify and overcome challenges in the volunteer fire service. 

• We drive change and advancement of the volunteer fire service.
