The Fire Within

The Fire Within is an organization made up mainly of volunteer firefighters committed to providing the tools and resources to help volunteer fire departments raise funds and awareness. 

Founded in 2005, the organization has developed programs resulting in over $3 million in support of the volunteer fire service. In addition, The Fire Within has awarded over $500,000 to fellow volunteers in equipment and training. 

Funding, recruitment and retention are the biggest issues facing the volunteer fire service across North America. By increasing public awareness around the sacrifices that volunteer firefighters make on a daily basis, we aim to increase the support that volunteer fire departments receive from the communities they serve. This is the first step to solving these issues.
